Gadchandur village is on the very border of Telangana. This village is a tribal of Chandrapur district. The village is dotted with scenic and historical forts and there are cement companies on all four sides of the village. Adjacent to this village is the fort of Gond Raja. Prior to 1993, there were no education facilities available in this village. Boys and girls here had to go to ChandrapurChandrapur to get higher education. SharadraoPawar College of Arts and Commerce was established in 1993 to provide degree education for the first time in this village. This college is affiliated to Gondwana University Gadchiroli. The facility of degree education was made available to the students.

Ever since SharadraoPawar College of Arts and Commerce was established, the subject of sociology was taught in the college. Initially, sociology was a compulsory subject for students. So the number of students in the first batch was 120. Because at that time there was only one batch in the college. After that Sociology subject was made optional. Although this subject is optional, students demand this subject with great interest.

I was selected as a part-time professor in 1998. From 1998 to 1999 I was working as a part-time professor. Then on 1st July 2000 I was selected as a permanent professor. Today I have completed 23 years as a Professor of Sociology in this college. In my experience I see the number of students increasing day by day in the college. Now BA in every subject in college. There are three batches in the first year, 96 students in Sociology in first batch, 62 students in second batch and 53 students in third batch. Some students of my subject M. A, M. Phil, Ph. D has a higher education and is working in many positions from professors.

Sociology is a very easy and popular subject for students. Students demand sociology subject first. Sociology works to tie human, society and individual into a thread. Why do problems arise in society? And what is the solution to solve that problem. Sociology works to provide information about this. That is why the subject of sociology is important. Certainly, the work of making students an ideal citizen is done through sociological studies. There is no doubt that the future young generation of students will create unity in the society by taking this knowledge.
